Description:
Considered a real delicacy, the candied chestnuts –also known as marron glace- are both a tasty sweet and a luxurious accompaniment.
Its origin goes back to ancient Greece, although they become truly popular amongst the upper classes during the Middle Ages.
The production process is quite delicate. It basically entails scalding the chestnuts, peeling and cooking them several times in syrup aromatised with vanilla.
