Costa Negra cheese
Description:
The external ash lends the characteristic black colour after which this cheese has been named. It literally means black rind.

It is made by the artisan cheese maker Tros de Sort located in the imposing Catalan Pyrenees. They only used fresh unpasteurized milk from cows that roam freely in the area eating the herbs that the beautiful local meadows have to offer.

Costa Negra is a soft cheese cured for about five weeks. Its soft and slightly sweet taste makes it stand out from other cheeses.

It can be enjoyed accompanied of, for instance, cava or white wine.
